Born in CA in 1973, Cameron Newell first began taking photos when her father purchased her a 35mm camera to satisfy her plea to capture landscape images on family road trips. Today, Cameron captures a more mature perspective of landscapes, and finds a colorless beauty contained within them.

In 1994 Cameron studied photography at Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. Simultaneously, she obtained a degree in Anthropology from the University of California.

After graduation, Cameron moved to Los Angeles, where she continued to pursue her love of the camera while working at The Image Bank, one of the world's largest photo agencies. Following her time at the Image Bank, she worked as an assistant to Rick English, a well-known commercial photographer located in San Francisco.

When an opportunity came to shoot her first privately held book, Cameron moved to Missoula, Montana. There she constructed a darkroom in the basement of a rural log cabin and spent much of her time shooting and printing. This time in Montana allowed her the opportunity to capture images of the Northwest’s National Parks, where her Protected Land Series began.

Following the completion of the project, Cameron returned to California area where she continues to live and work as a commercial and fine art photographer. Her passion for fine art photography is stronger than ever, and her focus has shifted toward an alternate interpretation of landscapes. Today Cameron's photographs are represented at the F-Stop in Chicago, and in galleries in Carmel and Los Angeles early next year.
